Clutching at straws

As I walked towards our drive after work, a female cyclist approached me sporting a full-on yawn. It was huge! As she passed we smiled in recognition of one of those moments never intended to have been witnessed.

I love it when two total strangers share a very fleeting but warm moment.

Its been an eventful day...first a pay rise...not much, but still a rise. I also had a bonus payment confirmed...not much, especially once the tax man gets his share, but a bonus payment nonetheless.

I also thought heavily about my efforts in French and have decided to dedicate my free evenings to serious study. For the near future therefore (see how it goes) I will post weekly instead of my normal daily journal. I'm clutching at straws a little but I'm sure it will make a difference.

I hope it will make a difference.

  1. I too love those random moments shared with strangers. They are priceless and precious.
Good luck on your French studies but don't stay away too long!

  3. Hi Randi
I'm finding that I only have so much time and it's the French that always suffers.
I don't think it's possible not to record how my life is so I'll still be a regular poster.
    Thanks for dropping by.

  4. Had to say how I too like those rare moments when strangers connect in some way...and then go on their way; strangers once again, but for a brief moment.

  5. I know what you mean about blogging taking up time you could usefully be using for something else. I haven't seen the bottom of my ironing basket for over a year !!
Actually I find it very therapeutic and great for winding down. A bit of escapism combined with creativity and the no holds barred battle with Blogger to find out what it has done with my text and photos !
Like so many things it's quality, not quantity that counts. I hope your French studies go well.

  6. Hi Khushi
Yes, it's like when you are stuck in a lift with someone as it get stuck between two floors and you are waiting to be rescued. You open your mouth and suddenly find you have things in common with people you have never met and will likely never meet again.

    Hi Jean
I think you are right about the therapeutic side of it. There is something to be said about recording how you feel or what you have done or what you hope for or what excites, motivates or disappoints you.
