Back to reality

I'm back from holiday and, as I sit here with the sun streaming through my studio window and warming the left side of my face, I feel a little out of sorts. Yes, I know I shouldn't, but I do.

It doesn't help to be reading a book entitled 'The Art of Dying'.

Perhaps when I pick the brush up and start painting I'll feel better. Perhaps when I catch up on a few blogs, I'll feel better still.

I invariably feel this way after a good holiday...especially after listening to world news or reading a national. I should also make certain that my calendar is clear following a break.

  1. I think I know what you're talking about. I call it the 'holiday hangover'....happens to me too! Hope you drown it in some lovely paintings...:)

  4. You are far too young to be reading a book called, "The Art of Dying"! Is it a self-help book? That's just macabre!

I hope you had a lovely holiday. It's always nice to be home but then a little anti-climatic too.`I like Khushi's term: "the holiday hangover." So true!

  5. We feel like that after every holiday - I think it's the dreariness of normal life as compared with life in France - almost like having nothing to look forward to until the next holiday. So you're not on your own !! Fortunately real life is too frantic to be able to dwell on it for long so it soon passes.

I would like to say here how much I enjoy seeing your paintings on your art blog and how good they are. There is no facility to make comments on that blog otherwise I would say it more often - you're a talented guy !!

  6. I think I've gone into relapse after reading that Robert Brault is off to Italy:) This is some holiday hangover, Khushi.

The paintbrush didn't really do the trick, Septembermom...I guess it's now down to the self-help book, Randi.

  7. Hi Jean
You are right on both counts:)
I think I may allow comments again, although I always feel awkward about nice things being aimed at me.
